Good health cannot be maintained if a person is overweight as several diseases can surround him because of the excess weight. Over the past couple of years, obesity has become one of the most common health problems. One needs to put in adequate effort to lose all the excess weight, so that they do not have to bear the brunt of various diseases that might hound them later. Here is a list of few health problems that can take center-stage due to the presence of obesity.

High Blood Pressure
High blood pressure is one of the most common perils of obesity. When the blood pressure levels are high, the risks of contracting heart diseases increase by many folds. People with high blood pressure also have a higher risk of experiencing stroke, or kidney failure. High blood pressure can be attributed to many factors such as a sedentary lifestyle, alcohol abuse, stress, etc.
High Levels of Cholesterol
Another downside of being overweight is that is can cause the cholesterol levels to shoot up to an abnormal level. Cholesterol is basically categorized into two types: Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL) and High Density Lipoprotein (HDL), wherein the former gives rise to many risk factors for heart diseases and the latter helps in the functioning of the heart. Therefore, doctors mostly recommend medication to patients who have high cholesterols level so that their HDL levels can improve and the LDL levels can be kept in check. Obesity promotes Low Density Lipoprotein in the body and tends to decrease High Density Lipoprotein levels.
Type 2 Diabetes
Glucose levels are important as it helps in providing the body with energy. In order to use the glucose properly, the body needs to produce a hormone called insulin, so that the glucose can get in to the bloodstream. People suffering from type 2 diabetes have dearth of insulin in their body as this hormone does not get produced in adequate amount. Diabetes mostly occurs to people who suffer from obesity. The risk of diabetes also increases if a person has a family history of the same condition.
Gall Bladder Issues
Gall bladder is required for the storage of bile that is made by the liver. Bile is an important component as it helps in the digestion of fats. When the bile gets hardened, then it takes the shape of stones. The bile duct can get clogged with gall bladder stones. Vomiting is one of the most common signs of gall bladder diseases. People, who are above the age of forty years and suffer from obesity, have higher risks of contracting Diabetes.
Obesity needs to be controlled with a lot of patience as quick results are difficult to achieve in such cases. Crash diets should be avoided, as it is not the long term solution for a condition like obesity. Diets which comprises of healthy foods should be introduced in your meas and also proper exercise helps in dealing with obesity in a natural and also the most effective manner.
